| Charge | Amount | Notes |

| FFL Transfer Fee | $30 | + TN sales tax |
| Tennessee Background Check (TICS) | $10 | Pass-through to State of TN — not taxable |
The $30 transfer fee is subject to Tennessee sales tax. The $10 background check fee is collected on behalf of the State of Tennessee and is not subject to sales tax. Payment is due at pickup — cash, debit, or major credit card.
We're a working firearms shop, not a storage facility — counter space is at a premium. To keep things moving for everyone, we have the following pickup policy:
- 14-day grace period. You have 14 days from arrival to come pick up your transfer. We'll make multiple efforts to reach you using the contact information your seller provided.
- After day 14: storage and audit fee. Transfers not picked up within the grace period accrue a fee of $0.50/day + tax, in addition to the regular transfer fees above.
- After 6 months: forfeiture. Any transfer not picked up within 6 months will become the property of Clarksville Guns & Archery.
If something is going to delay your pickup, just call us at (931) 802-8912. We're reasonable people — communication solves almost every problem.
For active-duty service members on deployment, we will hold transfers beyond the 14-day grace period when notified in advance. If you're deploying or expect to deploy while a transfer is in transit, let us know your expected return date before — or upon — the firearm's arrival.
If you do not have a Tennessee driver license or TN Handgun Carry Permit with your current address, please bring:
- A copy of your orders bringing you to Fort Campbell, and
- If you live off-post: a utility bill or vehicle registration connecting you to your off-post address.
Active-duty service members with PCS orders to Fort Campbell have dual TN/KY residency status and can buy and transfer firearms (including NFA items) through our Clarksville location regardless of which side of the state line your off-post residence is on.
If you're transferring in an NFA item that you bought from another dealer or another individual, the transfer fee is $125. This includes your Silencer Shop kiosk fingerprinting and Form 4 processing through the ATF eForms system.
For the full NFA process — how Form 4 works, current ATF wait times, the difference between buying through us vs. transferring in, individual vs. trust ownership, and the recently-eliminated $200 federal tax stamp — visit the dedicated NFA page.
The dealer will need a copy of our FFL to ship your firearm. They have two options:
- Contact us at (931) 802-8912 or email sales@clarksvillegunsandarchery.com — we'll send a copy of our FFL directly to them.
- Download our FFL from the link below and forward it to their compliance department.
The person shipping you the firearm can send it directly to our address. They should include in the package:
- A copy of their government-issued photo ID, and
- Your contact information (name, phone, email) so we can reach you when it arrives.

Valid Government-Issued Photo ID — Tennessee driver license, state ID, military ID, US passport, or other qualifying ID. The name and address on your ID must match your current residence.
Tennessee residents: Your TN driver license or state ID is all you need. TN Handgun Carry Permit holders may also use their permit as supplemental ID.
Out-of-state residents: Long guns (rifles and shotguns) can be transferred to residents of any US state. Handguns can only be transferred to Tennessee residents — if you're not a TN resident, the handgun must be transferred through an FFL in your home state.
